At the tender age of 13 and being introduced to it by my mother-in-law, my love for makeup and what it could do and how it made you feel has stayed with me. Continuing on I was to sneak into my own mother's makeup and experiment. Now in my forties, my dream of having my own label was brought to fruition by a stumble when making my own heel balm! The story is long and to keep it short, I made a lip balm during the process. One thing led to another and very unexpectedly my own range of cosmetics was developed. Beauty and a desire to create a space where women could indulge in the finest cosmetics was a dream come true. HAUS OF QUEEN/Queen of the MaDhouse Cosmetics ~ 'Insanely Beautiful!' is a facet of my company Essence of Raquel, which was named after my daughter, my own little Princess. I live and reign in amazing Australia. Like most Queens, I enjoy the finer things in life and love being surrounded by beauty with a sprinkle of MaDness thrown in for good measure! But life hasn't always been so rosy. My beginnings were somewhat humble and not without trials. But, true Queens do not wallow in self-pity! I've spent a lifetime delicately spinning those troubles into treasures and am proud to say that while I've survived much, I begrudge little. I focus my energies on wonderment and happiness and I want to share that with you.
